BUS 210: Managing and Leading in Business

C.Aleksic

, Organizational Structure

There has been a number of complaints within the company about the hierarchy, ineffective

communication, and organization of power amongst employees, managers, and directors recently. I

have been tasked with the re-organization of the structure of power to focus more on teamwork and

autonomy. I have organized the new structure model to support employees, give managers less of a

workload, and to ensure that no projects are duplicated due to miscommunications. The goal of the

new organizational structure model is to create innovativeness, increase communication, and assist

productivity in the company.

The New Model

The new model is being less formalized and is giving room for plenty of effective communication

between managers that oversee teams. I have broken the structure down as follows; Director of Product

Group, Director of Service Group, and Director of Shared Resource Group are all directly under the CEO

and report to CEO only. Under the three directors are the upper managers which consist of the Human

Resources Manager, Marketing Manager (Blue Team), Green Team Manager, Red Team Manager. These

managers must meet regularly and are the main supervisors to each team. Under the team managers,

Marketing, and HR Manager are the team employees. Team employees consist of Developers,

Designers, Graphic Designers, Information Technology Specialists and Data Analysts.

Marketing Team. The Marketing Team or Blue Team has the majority of designers and graphic

designers that collaborate together. The marketing team also has a Q.A employee to ensure quality

assurance (that all jobs are done according to policy). At the top of the Marketing Team is a manager

and project manager who work side by side with the other employees under them. This takes a lot of

stress and workload off of the manager.

Service Group or Yellow Team. The higher ups consist of a manager and a project manager but

have multiple data analysts, one designer, one information tech specialist, and a marketing specialist
