Job Summary: The Farm Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of
both the dairy cattle and maize production units, ensuring efficient resource utilization,
adherence to best practices, and achievement of production targets. The supervisor will lead and
manage farm workers, maintain records, and report regularly to the Farm Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Dairy Operations:
o Supervise daily milking routines, ensuring hygiene and milk quality standards.
o Oversee feeding, watering, and animal health checks.
o Monitor cattle health, identify sick animals, and coordinate with the veterinarian.
o Supervise cleaning and maintenance of dairy parlors, sheds, and equipment.
o Manage breeding programs and calf rearing.
o Ensure proper silage preparation and storage.
Maize Operations:
o Supervise land preparation activities (tilling, harrowing).
o Oversee planting, ensuring correct spacing and seed depth.
o Manage weeding and pest control activities.
o Supervise irrigation schedules and water application.

o Ensure proper application of fertilizers and other crop inputs.
Human Resource Management:
o Supervise, train, and motivate farm workers in both sections.

Record Keeping & Reporting:

Maintenance & Equipment:

Qualifications:
Diploma or Certificate in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role on a commercial farm.
Demonstrated knowledge of dairy cattle management and maize cultivation practices.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in basic record-keeping.
