Main clause: S+ Future Simple (will + infinitive) (TEFL Academy, Unit 7)
e.g. If you hurry, you’ll catch the bus.
2. What is the model sentence you will elicit to I will begin by eliciting a question (based on one of the students' examples in warmer) e.g.
begin your presentation? 'What will you do if it rains/sunny tomorrow?' then from that elicit the affirmative: 'If it’s sunny
tomorrow, I’ll go to the beach' which I will use as model.
3. What are the negative and question Model sentence in negative form: If it isn’t sunny tomorrow, I won’t go to the beach.
(interrogative) forms of your model sentence? Form: if + S + do/does not + present verb, S+ will(not) + verb(infinitive)
(You might find there is more than one Model sentence in question form: What will you do if it is sunny tomorrow?
possibility, but you only need to show one Form: Interrogative + will + S + verb(in infinitive) + if + S + present simple
negative and one question, then analyse the
forms)
4. What is the function? (M) To talk about actions/ events in the future which are likely to happen or have real possibility of
happening.
May or may not happen in the future. There is a big chance to happen.(Eslbase.com,2020)

In negative form; the auxiliary verb and not are usually contracted: don’t, doesn’t, won't
If it isn’t sunny tomorrow, I won’t go to the beach.
