One control measure could be to supply goggles, face screens, face shields and visors. This is
because some machines will release dust and splash of tiny objects. By preventing this from going
into the eyes, causing blindness and cuts, you must wear goggles. You can wear face shields as this
will prevent the small objects from cutting the face. Furthermore, this protective wear can also
prevent gas and vapour from entering the operator mouth or nose. This control will reduce the
amount of people from receiving cuts in the eyes and face. Also, less people will be inhaling harmful
gases which can damage the lungs.
Control measure to reduce damages from loud noises from equipment such as big drill. This control
measure is to provide Ear plugs and earmuffs when using loud equipment. When workers are
working with equipment that releasing high volume of noise, protection must be given even if the
noise has small duration. This control will prevent most people in the workplace from becoming deaf
or receiving damages in the ear. This will reduce risk because the earplugs will prevent the user from
intaking a lot of noise, leading to less damage to the ears.
Control measure to prevent exposure to hazardous substances. One of the controls is to use an
equipment such as total enclosure partial enclosure and LEV. This equipment will get rid of the
hazardous gases before the worker breathe it in. Therefore, getting rid of these gases and preventing
people from inhaling harmful gases which will therefore prevent lung damages and difficult
breathing. Furthermore, another control will be to training to reduce exposure. For instance, the
business could store less hazardous substance or store them away from working areas. This will
control the exposure hazards because less workers will be around these harmful substances and less
of it would be around meaning less workers will be affected.
Finally, a control measure to reduce damages from active and non-active machine. The fourth
control measure is to provide machine guards and emergency stops. This control measure prevents
workers in the workplace from making any contact with parts of the machine. The control measure
will reduce workers from receiving cuts and bruises from accidently getting in touch with the
machine. Furthermore, if the machine is active and a worker is caught within it an emergency stop
will completely stop the machine. This will stop workers from getting badly injured, but they may
receive cuts.
