When calculating drug dosages for pediatric patients, the maximum individual and total doses
should not exceed the respective adult doses. This does not apply to IV fluid boluses (where the
pediatric dose of 20 mL/kg may exceed the 200 mL adult dose) or individual doses of Versed
(midazolam) or Narcan (naloxone) due to weight-based dosing.
