complete reliable solution with clear explanation

SECTION A QUESTION 1 Briefly describe the circumstances
under which a security official can invoke "private defense."
Include an example to support your explanation. [5]

Private Defense (also known as Self-Defense) allows an
individual to protect themselves or others from an imminent
threat of harm. In the context of security officers, they may
invoke private defense under specific circumstances where they
believe their actions are necessary to prevent harm or injury.
Circumstances under which a security official can invoke
private defense:
1. Imminent Threat: The security officer must believe that
there is an immediate threat of harm or danger to
themselves, others, or property. The threat must be
unlawful and cannot be an anticipated or future threat.
2. Proportional Response: The response to the threat must be
proportional to the threat faced. The security officer is not
allowed to use excessive force that goes beyond what is
necessary to repel the threat.
3. No Alternative: The officer must have no other reasonable
means of avoiding the threat. If there is a way to escape or
avoid the situation without using force, private defense
cannot be invoked.

, 4. Defending Against Unlawful Attacks: Private defense can
only be used in response to an unlawful attack, such as
physical assault or property damage.

Example:
A security officer at a shopping mall sees a person trying to
break into a store by smashing the window. The intruder is
armed with a crowbar and is threatening to harm anyone who
intervenes. In response, the security officer draws their weapon
and orders the intruder to stop, but the intruder moves closer in a
threatening manner. In this scenario, the officer can invoke
private defense by using force to stop the intruder, as the officer
believes they are preventing a serious crime and protecting
others. The use of force should be proportionate, such as aiming
for non-lethal areas, to prevent harm without escalating the
situation further.

QUESTION 2 Name and describe the different elements of
access control. Provide an example of each from your work
environment. [10]

Access Control Elements
Access control refers to the process of managing and restricting
access to physical and digital resources based on authentication,
authorization, and monitoring. It ensures that only authorized
individuals or entities can access specific areas, information, or
