Prevention Strategy
Parental involvement is the center of attention in ongoing action research. This research
report aims to identify potential causes of the recent drop in parental involvement in their children's
early education programs and practical solutions to this problem.
The research question is, "How can parents' participation in early childhood education be increased
with a stronger and more active role?"
Intervention will be provided via Zoom to allow parents to express why they cannot be as
active as they would like in their child's education. It will enable the project to gather data
concerning the question at hand.
Parents can avoid being identified when they share their opinions by turning off their
cameras, using an alternate username or initials, or using a voice changer. A secret sign-in will only
be accessible to the host. To protect the secrecy of all information shared during the Zoom call, we
will also send a consent form and a non-disclosure agreement to the parents' email or text messages
along with the private link. It will ensure that only parents from the early childhood community can
participate. To provide participants with privacy, the Zoom call description will state that their
answers will only be used for research purposes and that they can end the conversation without
further consequences.
The child's early learning services will determine the frequency of the four sessions, with
one weekly meeting to keep the Zoom call planned and manageable. Parents enrolled in Early Head
Start will meet for the first session, Head Start parents for the second, Pre-K parents for the third,
and Kindergarten parents for the fourth. The parents will then get an email with the specifics of the
call, including the time, date, paperwork, and their unique link to attend the call that day. As a
