In one or two paragraphs for this assignment.

1. Describe your how you might handle this clinical interaction

If I had a reliable charge nurse to settle Mrs. Turner in her room first, I would take the
following actions. I would first delegate to the nursing assistant to help Mrs. Marsen with
her bath and to take a digital BP for Mr. Ferrel. I would then go see Mr. Carrs and
explains to him that his labs show he has less coagulability making him have an increased
chance of bleeding. I would the explain to him that I am setting the heparin pump to be
delayed for an hour and to call me back using his call light if he feels or sees any sign of
bleeding. I would then go document what I have done with him. I would then go see Mrs.
Turner and conduct a full body assessment on her and look for signs of bleeding on her
as well. I would the monitor her VS and look for any increased pressure since she just
had a angioplasty. If there were any irregularities I would contact the provider if any
irregularities were found and document my findings. Next, I would go see Mr. Ferrel and
do a manual BP check if his BP is lower then 100 I would contact the provider , but if it is
above 100 I would document my findings, contact radiology, and see if they are ready
for me to send him to get his x-ray. I would also look on my orders to see what I need to
do for his D/C. Lastly, I would go and check with Mrs, Marsen and see how her bath
went, and do an assessment on her and document my findings.

2. What were some strengths and weaknesses? Both must be addressed to get full
points

One strength is that I have a reliable and experienced CNA to assist me. One
weaknesses are I don’t know when radiology will be ready for Mr. Ferrel !another
weakness is that I don’t know the state of Mr. Turner after her angioplasty so I if I
dint have a charge nurse to go settle her in the room I would have to go see if she
s table first before doing anything. Another weakness if that I didn’t hear the shift
report from the other nurse pertaining the patients mental and spiritual health so I
don’t know if I have to take any actions to help these areas.
