Being a Professional Teacher

Question 1

A professional teacher is someone who is well-trained, knowledgeable, and committed
to their role in educating and guiding learners. They follow ethical standards, treat
students with respect, and act responsibly in and outside the classroom. A professional
teacher is also someone who continuously improves their teaching methods and
maintains a high standard of discipline and fairness.

Do I agree with this definition? Yes, I agree with it. Here are my two reasons:

1. A professional teacher must set an example – Teachers are role models for
students. They need to act responsibly, follow ethical standards, and treat
learners with fairness and kindness. If they don’t behave professionally, it can
negatively affect students’ behavior and learning environment.
2. Professionalism ensures quality education – A teacher who is professional
will always work towards improving their teaching skills and helping students
learn better. They will plan lessons carefully, create a safe and supportive
learning environment, and treat every student with respect.
