1.1 - Explain what is meant by;
• Diversity
Everyone has their own beliefs and life history and preferences. Some
preference example could include what time they wake up, what their
meals or diets include and their preferred entertainment.
Diversity can include things such as a diverse age range, genders such as
male and female. It can also include different religious beliefs.
• Equality
Equality means treating everyone the with the same dignity and respect.
Equality is also making sure everyone has access to the same opportunities
and care.
• Inclusion
Inclusion means keeping people involved in as much as possible and not to
dismiss any requests.
• Discrimination
Discrimination is where you choose not to help a certain person because
they are different in one way or another.
1.2 - Describe ways in which discrimination may deliberately or
inadvertently occur in the work settings.
Discrimination can happen if the resident is state funded or privately
funded.
A resident may have a bad history in their younger years which may
