The first 10 amendments make up the Bill of Rights, focussing on protecting rights of individuals
against the government and protecting the power of states against the federal government.
Key amendments
1- Freedom of expression + religion
2-Right to bear arms
4-No unreasonable searches or seizures of people or property
8-Right to provide freedom from cruel and unusual punishment
10-Right of states to have reserved powers as opposed to fed. govt
The constitution is codified- a set of rules written down in a single text.
