Qualifications for obtaining Florida real estate sales associate license - ANSWER 18
years or older, high school education or equivalent, 63 classroom hours (50 minutes
each) pass course 100 question exam with 70% correct. Take state exam within 2 years
and get a 75% or better
45 hours - ANSWER Number of post license education hours required to be completed
prior to the expiration date of the initial license.. Failure to complete this will cause the
license to become void
Sales Associates may be Licensed under a - ANSWER Broker or Owner-Employer such
as a developer, Brokers are registered and licensed; Owner-Employers are registered
with the DBPR but are not licensed.
Sales Associates must be paid only by - ANSWER his or her employer
Qualification to become a Broker - ANSWER 72 hour broker pre-license course plus
passing exam (70/100)May not miss more than 8 hours of classroom instruction. Must
be a licensed associate under one or more actively licensed brokers for a period of 24
months within a 5 year period. Must have taken the 45 hour post associates lic. course.
Must take state Broker licensing test.
Broker post-license education requirement - ANSWER 60 Hours of post lic education
during initial period. Failure to complete during this period the license becomes void. 14
hour continued education is required every 2 years subsequent to the initial period. 14
hours consist of 3 hours of "core law" and 11 hours of approved specialty education. If
taken as distance learning 30 question exam must be passed.
Attorney exemptions - ANSWER Do not have to take the pre or continuing education
requirements
Retention of course completion certificates - ANSWER Retain for at least two years as
licenses are subject to audit of from the DBPR
