elaborate hierarchy that has sufficient capabilities to
tackle challenges and obstacles in order to meet the
business’ goals and objectives. Coca-Cola and Oxfam

doubtlessly provides them guidance to accelerate their
developments.
Types of structures
The types of structures consist of function,
geographic area, product groups and
types of customer. Function is the various
departments of a business, for example,
marketing, sales or production. These
departments have certain purposes in a
business and they are required to perform
their individual tasks that may or may not
relate to other functions. Geographical
area refers to the location of the
organisation and where it is stationed in a country. Product groups are the separate
divisions of products in a business, for instance Coca-Cola also has other products such
as “Sprite” or “Fanta”. The type of customer refers to business customers or regular
customers, a company can be contacted by either of them and should have procedures
in place that enables them to communicate effectively.
