Simple Past
Practice:
 Teacher gets students in pairs to ask each other “What he/she did last
weekend?”
“What did you do last Saturday?” Where did you go in the afternoon?”
 Elicit using prompts:

(“ed” in positive form)
* walked
* visited
* shopped
* danced
* enjoyed
(irregular)
* saw
* sang
* ate

 Then teacher gives each pair a handout with nine London famous
landmarks on it. Then asks them to say:-
* “Where did you go?”
* “I went to Buckingham palace in the afternoon_______________.
 Corrections will then be corrected and practiced on the board.

Task 2

Second conditional (in pairs)

Student says and writes in second conditional sentences:-

 e.g. “If I were rich and famous now, (I'd buy a big boat)?.”
 e.g. “If I were rich and famous now, (I'd build a big house)?.”
 e.g. “If I were rich and famous now, (I'd live in Monaco)?.”

The other student says and writes in second conditional sentences:-

 e.g. “If I were rich and famous now, (I'd party every night)?.”
 e.g. “If I were rich and famous now, (I'd buy expensive jewellery)?.”
 e.g. “If I were rich and famous now, (I'd live in Hollywood)?”.
