Analyse requirements for an application
The mobile computing requirements of an identified situation:
Device capabilities required, e.g. accelerometer, GPS
The app will not need to make use of any device capabilities such as GPS or accelerometers.
Input required, e.g. touch screen, voice, timed event
The mobile app will need to make use of the touch screen and tapping gestures to use buttons
on each screen. There are not many gestures that the app will need.
Output required, e.g. video, audio, vibration
The only outputs that the app will need are audio and video. Video will be needed to show
animations / graphic designs. Audio will be needed for a range of interactions e.g. buttons,
The user's needs, e.g. location-based services, accessibility considerations
The application does not need to ask for permission for user needs such as location and
accessibility.

Description of program tasks
This app is designed for a younger target audience (6 – 12 years of age). The theme of this
mobile application will revolve around mathematics.
Users will only require finger gestures on the touch screen. For this application they will only
need to tap. This is so that they can answer a set of mathematics questions.
These questions are structured in three levels. Level one has no time limit, level two has a
time limit of 20 seconds (per question), and level three has a time limit of 10 seconds (per
question).
The types of questions can vary but in general will only test users on their addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division. The application is required to keep track of the user’s
overall score.
Target platform(s)
The target platform for this application will be devices using Android OS. More specifically,
high-end and low-end mobile devices as well as tablets that make use of the operating
system.
