, 5-2 Final Project Milestone Three: Implementatio n
Data entry is entered into a computer system, and it is important when implementing a
new system because it supports an easier treatment experience for the patients and their records'
accessibility. When a system is implemented into a facility, it can greatly improve the impact on
the population's health. In this milestone I would discuss recommendations for a testing plan that
would be beneficial to the system.
Implementation: Data Entry
Data entry is important because it is information inputted into a typically computerized
system. Data entry is important when entering information since it turns hard-to-use information,
like handwritten notes or PDFs into data that computers can process. Some of the things that
would be implemented within the data entry process would be transcription, typing and even
voice recognition. Furthermore, with the new EHR system the data entry will include alert of
errors, correction of errors, messaging formatting and guiding users who need help. Another
important factor to consider would also be screen elements. Implementing the correct screen
elements will allow users to go through pages easily and view the screen at a comfortable level
while keeping information accurate and up to date.
Implementation: Testing
To maintain a smooth testing plan, all components of the EHR system should be tested.
To make this process work there will need to be hands-on assistance from several staff members.
All systems must meet the appropriate guidelines for a successful testing plan to promote a good
workflow. A proper testing strategy should be developed as well as proper validation of
workflows, allocation of resources, tracking testing/outcomes and lastly implementing audits of
the testing plan. Furthermore, in the testing plan I would recommend resources that should be
ran
