Hello Class
My name is Kortney Brewster. I live in a small town in Kansas called Wellsville.
My city only has 1,921 people as of the year 2020. I have lived in this tiny town
since first grade. I am now 26 years old, so I have lived in Wellsville for about
twenty years now. I live with my daughter Abigail she will be two years old in
December. She is my whole world.
Currently I am a single mom working as a para educator. I have done this job for
four years now. I have worked in three different schools’ districts, and I have
loved every classroom I have been a part of. What I'm excited to learn about is a
little of everything. I have always liked learning new things. The most challenging
thing for me is probably trying to do homework and take care of my little girl.
When it comes to homework and other assignments, I tend to get overwhelmed
easy. I am also working a full-time job. My life is about to get very busy, but I
think all this work will be very rewarding when I finish college and start teaching.
I am currently working on getting my bachelor’s in early childhood education and
special education. I have always enjoyed working with special needs children,
which is why I want to become a teacher. I want to work with students with all
kinds of needs. My hope is for this world to value teachers more, so teachers can
get the respect they deserve for the demanding job they do every day for the
students. Students will always come first to a teacher. It's why most become
teachers in the first place. Working with children has been the most rewarding job
for me.
