NHS eat well plate

The eat well plate is designed to help individuals how to
maintain a healthy and balanced diet. It shows us the
proportions of a variety of food groups that could be
consumed to achieve a balanced diet. The eat well plate
consists of

Fruits and vegetables - these should take up over a third
of your diet.
Starchy foods - potatoes, bread, rice and pasta. Starchy
food should make up just over a third of the food we eat.
They are a good source of energy.
Proteins - beans, eggs, fish and meat - Milk, cheese,
yoghurt are good sources of protein and some vitamins, and they're also an important
source of calcium, which helps keep our bones healthy
Dairy or dairy alternatives - milk, cheese and yoghurt
Oils and spreads - use unsaturated oils and spreads in small portions
Foods high in fat, salt, and sugar - Chocolate, sweets, crisps - these should be eaten less
often
