 Need to tell where the essay is about to go.
 Reader is going to have to read another 2000 essays – make it easy for them.
 Organizing the argument and editing is vital/ crucial (more important than writing and
reading)

 Only include the history paragraph if it is relevant to the argument.
 Always give examples – don’t make it boring!

Introduction:
3 requirements of an introduction: (2000 essay -> 160-180 words introduction)
1. say the context – the topic
2. tell what you have read – what are the sources/ what you are referring to in the essay.
3. What you are going to argue.

Corrections on grammatical mistakes/ prepositions:

Paragraph requirements:
 Make a point in the beginning of the paragraph– have an argument!
 Have a mini-intro in each paragraph. – everything that comes after that reads more
analytical than descriptive.
 It’s not everything you know about the subject; it’s answering the question.
 President of Syria – parliament speech. Putting a finger in the air and make a point.
- The British people will pay a large price of this.
- We have a moral obligation.
- Because of our historical links to the middle-east.

 “this is what ive told you before and this is my last view on it”
