In this report 3 different types of businesses will be discussed and the different sizes and
structures will be investigated. All businesses have different aims and objectives which will
be explained. The 3 organisations that will be analysed are Mcdonald's, City college and
Cancer Research.

Business environment and growth
The business environment is the factors, individuals and entities that influence a business
regardless of whether it is controllable or not by the business. it affects their
growth,survival,performance and profit. When a business is set up, it is mostly in the
domestic environment which is a small business opened in a nation only, the business
therefore only pays tax in that country. To expand the business, next step is usually to open
up in another country which will then become a international business. Hill, C., 2008 states
international business refers to business activities that involve the transfer of resources (raw
materials, capital and people), goods (finished assemblies and products), services
(management consulting, financial services, insurance and education, etc.) and knowledge.
To expand a business even more the company has to go global, this is where they will be
doing business across the world.
The growth of business is accelerating across the world because of the
economy,competitors,market environment, supply and demand. These influencing factors
make an impact upon organisations therefore to maximise profit they expand. When there is
