Preperation - ANS-*patient needs to go to the most appropriate facility
PPE, warmed IV fluids
Airway - ANS-Airway= (patency, FB, facial trauma, C-spine protection to prevent
vertebral injury into cord injury)
*OPA, NPA, intubate, surgical airway (no cricothyrotomy in kids)
Primary Survey - ANS-ABCDEs
Breathing - ANS-Breathing= expose chest. ventilation, auscultate, subQ air, flail chest
*remember pulse ox is not a good indicator for oxygenation
Circulation - ANS-Consider occult blood loss in retroperitoneum, pelvis, thigh
Disability - ANS-AVPU (alert, voice, pain, unresponsive)
GCS (eye opening, verbal response, motor response)
*3 is the lowest you can have
Exposure - ANS-remove all clothing to look, then re-cover to prevent hypothermia
