Native - ANS-Applications that use the host computer's processing power to perform all
DSP functions.
Waves Native - ANS-Plugins run under VST, Audio-Units, RTAS and Audiostuite in
Waves-supported host. No external processing devices are needed, although an
external I?O device may be necessary to run the host application.
TDM(Time-Divison Multiplexing) - ANS-Plugins use TDM as a processing power. Waves
TDM plugins include Native components as well as TDM, can be used on both TDM
and Native applications.
SoundGrid - ANS-An Audio-over-Ethernet networking and processing platform
developed by Waves.
Activation - ANS-The process of activating a software product by registering it with the
manufacturer and confirming the validity of the purchase. This process is usually
transacted over the Internet
Wave Central - ANS-An application that lets you activate and manage your Waves
license. Your software will be in the cloud or move it to a drive/usb
Host Application - ANS-Plugins do not operate on their own. Instead, they function
within larger programs or platforms. A host application is a program in which plugins
operate.
Host Platform - ANS-The computer/operating system in which a host application runs.
Mac or Windows, and some times digital console (live settings).
Component - ANS-Full version or several smaller version of plugin configuerations.
WavesShell - ANS-Software developed to provide an interface between a host
application and the waves plugins.
