P7 Personal Development Plan
P7 Produce a personal development plan to help an individual prepare for increased use of e-business.
In this task, I have been asked to advice local medium sized business which considering launching an e-commerce website designed to open up new
customer base in both the EU and Asia, and therefore I have to provide them with a Personal Development Plan (PDP) for sales Staff who are unfamiliar
with internet business.
The internet become a global phenomenon since its arrived first, and more people now days have used the internet for both private and business use. In
fact, the huge increase in growth of home computing helped business to increase their online activities, as it become the central entertainment are in
households. Therefore, this increase in use of the internet has concerned most of businesses, as they have to consider their staffs’ personal level of ICT skills
and knowledge. They started considering the importance of ICT Skills to improve their business, as employees can provide their staff with IT training to
improve their business and becoming more successful.
Some of the organisation nowadays, aimed to employ only fulltime permanent core of mulita skills staff. As there is an increase in secondments temporary
transfers to another job within the same organisation, as a prat-time or flexible working pattern, as well as being contracted out to freelancers (self-
employed individuals). This increase in changing role of jobs as well as transferring to another job is because on the new information technology as it allow
people and businesses to communication easily, and where individual can adopt more flexible pattern. A Personal Development Plan will help individuals to
become more flexible and capable to different role and task, as at some point in their working life, they will need to change their job roles and obtain new
skills.
