Evaluate the distribution systems in delivering goods and services
for a selected retailer of your own choice
1.0 TERMS OF REFERENCE
1.1. On Thursday 25th of January .,… asked me to create a report about the way a
product of an organisation travels from one part to another, starting from
manufactures and ending to the customers.My chosen product would be a packet of
strawberries from Asda retailer.Furthermore in this report i would research and give
evidence of how , when and where these strawberries come from.
2.0 PROCEDURE
2.1 In order to write this report I will use the following information: -
- the notes from my classroom
- the information from P2 and M2
- the internet sources about Asda products
3.0 FINDINGS
About Asda:
Asda is a supermarket retailer that was established in Britain and headquartered in
Leeds, West Yorkshire.Nowadays Asda is selling clothing and food products in order
to make it customers satisfied therefore to increase their sales.In terms of distribution
Asda now has 26 distribution depots all across the UK which distribute across the
network of stores. There are depots for chilled foods, clothing and ambient products,
such as carbonated drinks and cereals.
Supply chain:
It is the way a product travels from the supplier to the consumer by involving retailers
,distributors, transporters, storage facilities and suppliers who participates in the
sales , delivery and manufacture of those products.Furthermore Asda is the retailer
that also follows the supply chain in order to become successful and compete well
with its rivals.The advantages of following the supply chain for Asda is because :
● It is efficient
● It improves stock availability therefore it increase profit
● It improves choices of products therefore the customers become more
satisfied and become loyal to the business
● It offers up-to-date products which brings in new market therefore new
customers
● It reduces the stock levels and mark-downs which increases sales therefore
reduces costs
