The four levels being: Biological Level: The focus of the biological level is on the neurochemistry. Through this, we are able to examine the hormones adding to the mate selection. Individual Level: In the level of individuality we watch how one’s age range, personality type, and gender also strongly shape the opinion and amount of attractiveness. Social Level: Using this level we can easily see just how people are shaped and influenced by their friend’s personality and their choices of mate selection. The attitude of the mate also carries an large influence on this decision as well. Cultural Level: In this final level of determinacy, the cultural background, beliefs, values, race/ethnicity also can play a significant role when examining mate selection. An example being when induvial’s go to choose a mate they usually determine it based on the ethnicity, or what clique/group they hang around or with. When these types of beliefs or ideals collide they often lead to tension and issues amongst both parties, stressing the importance of sharing similar values and beliefs when choosing a mate.
