, Introduction
In South Africa, there are many challenges that affect how people learn new skills and get
jobs. These challenges include things like not having enough jobs, dealing with HIV/AIDS,
and facing changes from other countries. This document talks about these challenges and
how they affect human resource development (HRD) in South Africa.
It also looks at two important ways of making sure things are done well in organizations:
Total Quality Management (TQM) and Conformance to Specifications Model (CTS). These
help organizations work better and improve their quality.
Lastly, the document talks about how to make a plan for teaching people new skills at work.
This plan is called a Workplace Skills Plan (WSP). It gives a step-by-step guide for making
this plan so that it meets the rules set by education and training authorities.
In this module we are understanding and dealing with these challenges and using good
methods like TQM and CTS, organizations in South Africa can become better at what they do
and help people learn and work more effectively.
