M2- Monitor and audit progress towards targets using objectives of the career plan
I already created SMART targets for my career plan and carried out skills audit to identify skills gaps.
Therefore, I feel that my advancement towards my objectives in the course over the recent weeks
has certainly been a success and something I would not have expected to come to me so effectively.
Over the past few weeks since I created my SMART targets and skills audits has helped me to gain
specific skills and knowledge that I thought it would take long time and mostly a few months in order
to achieve and learn them. This had influenced me in many ways as it increased my confidence of
going into university and because I had gained and develop specific skills and knowledge such
organisational skills to become more a lot more aware and prepared me to the university world. In
addition, I still have around 4 months that I aim to use it very carefully and efficiently to develop and
gain more skills even further. You can see my skills audit when I first complete before completing the
unit and competing the courses that help med to gain extra knowledge and also develop my skills.
The skills audit will be provided in the evidence sheets and documents to see.
AS you can see in my skills audit sheets, I did already have theses skills to a respectable level, which
is good specifically to my age as I am still improving and developing my personal skills and
knowledge. However, There was always room for improvements even I have good level at some
skills, I still need to improve and develop them as there is no one is prefect and I can only see that
further improving in the future. I would definitely say that my written communication have
improved the most over the past few weeks as I feel more comfortable with all the written
documents such as essay, reports and article that I have been asked to complete during my course
work as well as GCSE English. I feel that If I continue developing my skills with these methods that I
used in during my Business course, then all these skills will be at level 3 in the near future of going
university or even in the time I am in the university I still can continue to develop them.
In order to ensure that all of these skills are developed to level 3 and ensures that I can achieve my
career objectives in the future, I will need to get my degree qualification in accounting studies and
have the appropriate work experience in the business industry. At the moment, due to my age, it will
not be available to achieve level 3 at all of my skills as I will study in the university for 3 years to
complete and to ensure I get the appropriate experience in the business industry. Therefore, it will
be available through the time I am at university and I hope that I can improve my skills and ensure
they are at the highest level in the next 5 years. By this time, I wail be able to complete my short-
term objectives as well as starting to work toward completing my long-term objectives.
