Compare the training needs for staf at diferent levels in an organisaton
M1
Depending on the area in Mc Donalds structure, that a person works in will determine what training
they must go through.it is a must that they go through the appropriate training to for fll their job
role within the organisaton as it will allow them to be most productie and efcient.

At the organisatonal leiel training is the basic training which consists of things such as health and
safety and corporate ialues. This training is normally used in mc Donald’s when teaching trainees
simple roles such as health and safety around the kitchen an how to fip a burger. The in Mc Donald’s
is used when teaching new members that will be joining the crew

Those who are restaurant management will need to haie diferent training than those who work as
a part of the crew in Mc Donalds as indiiidual training my not be needed for them. For example,
Department managers will need specifc training indiiidual whether it being shadowing somebody or
getting to what they need to do by a current department manager. ehereas the crew staf will need
organisatonal training mainly and if needed indiiidual training to help on their weak points.

Operatonal training is a training need that a restaurant manager would need as they must set
objecties and goals for their department that they must striie towards to receiie a reward.
Operatonal objecties are critcal as it allows Mc Donalds to try sell a certain number of units which
will allow the most reienue. This is iital for a department manager as the more they sell the beter
they will look and could mean they get promoted. This is indiiidual training as it sets goal for your
purpose mainly and makes you push yourself. Training needed for department managers is diferent
and more complex, this type of training must be taught on an indiiidual leiel as it iniolies more
pressure than a crew member as they are in charge of a whole department in Mc Donald’s and if
something occurs it will be on them.

Contrastng from restaurant manager, the crew staf worker uses operatonal training as they learn
about things such as corporate ialues that they must obey to keep their job. This training must be
complete to get a simple job at Mc Donald’s as these are the core ialues you must know and possess
before working for Mc Donalds. This is iery diferent to indiiidual training as eieryone who apply for
a job at Mc Donalds need to know this.

Department leiel training allows team budding to occur as this allow the workers to be more
productie and efcient. oweier, team building is diferent at department leiel for crew staf and
store managers. This is because department team building is harder as they need to complete more
difcult jobs for the organisaton to work. This type of training normally requiuires the worker to haie
good educaton and good knowledge of the business. ehereas working as a team as a crew member
is not hard, as eieryone has indiiidual job roles that need to be completed such as one person is on
the tll another if fipping burgers at the back. igher leiel of training is requiuired as a department
manager as they must haie skills such as good problem soliing, good customer seriice etc. All this is
done by training and shadowing a worker as well as completng tests to get this job. ehereas for
Crew member at department leiel they must only complete simple task and haie good
communicaton. Store managers are also usually front of house as they are exposed to more
customers, the reason for this is because they haie more training skills than a crew member and can
resolie problems quiuicker than a crew member who works on the tll, for this reason crew memebrs
who are less skilled are sent to the back of house so that they are not seen or expose the company.

Oierall the two requiuire diferent leiels of training as one is more complex and harder to obtain then
just being a simple crew worker. This is because a department manager has more responsibilites
