PREVIEW
HAMLET

‘For all his insight, Hamlet is blinded by the
brilliance of the sun-god Hyperion, who is
his father’. (Christie 2012: 17). Write an
essay in which you discuss Hamlet’s
directions in the play and how he is able or
unable to escape his father’s influence. Use
at least two articles to illustrate your answer.

In William Shakespeare's play "Hamlet," the
protagonist, Hamlet, is deeply affected by
the influence of his father, King Hamlet,
even after his father's death. This essay will
explore Hamlet's relationship with his father
and how it shapes his actions throughout
the play. The quote by Christie suggests
that Hamlet is "blinded" by his father's
influence, implying that he is unable to see

things clearly or act independently.
However, some interpretations suggest that
Hamlet is able to transcend his father's
influence and forge his own path
