Seborrheic Blepharitis *Ans* As seen in somewhat older age group, with the equal incidents in men and women. Treatment of blepharitis *Ans* Baby shampoo, warm compresses, lid massage Rarely antibiotic ointment (erythromycin, bacitracin) Treatment of rosacea or seborrhea Demodex - Ivermectin (antiparasitic) or tea tree oil Seborrhea - triamcinolone cream to lids 3x/wk Meibomian glands *Ans* Are in large sebaceous gland aligned in a row posterior to the eyelashes.They produce a clear lipid secretion that makes up the outer Layer of the tear film. Hordeolum *Ans* is an acute infection of one of the glands in the eyelid. Treatment of Hordeolum *Ans* Warm compresses I & D (ophthalmology) only if conservative measures fail - internal vs external Antibiotic ointment (Bacitracin) Chalazion *Ans* Is a chronic, sterile, lipogranulomatous inflammatory lesion of the meibomain gland. Treatment of Chalazion *Ans* Warm compresses Refer if not better in about 2 wks
