o How to interpret output tables and answer MCQ from this
Jamovi
o How to interpret output tables and answer MCQ from this
SASS – website package on UON page
Provides support on how to conduct many kinds of statistical tests
Covers how to conduct and interpret different analyses using both SPSS and Jamovi
Datasets are available to download to practise your own analyses
Where and now to use SPSS?
Practise data analysis with SPSS is important. Use it:
o On a psychology computer
o Downloading from the UON software library (google ‘Nottingham software
library’)
o Via the virtual desktop
Part 2
SPSS – how to use it
Variable view – can have nominal or ordinal variables or scale.
Doesn’t like spaces between the names of data sets
It is shown in different columns in data view
In data view is where you implement the data in accordance to the meanings of the
data set in variable view
Can just add in data by hand in the columns (but can be really time consuming) so
instead you can:
o Copy and paste data from excel into SPSS – paste with variable names or just
paste the numerical values.
o Open an excel file in SPSS – file > open > data > documents > open the file
you wish to use > press ok.
Double check SPSS has opened and interpreted all the variables correctly
