What is Culture (Nelson-Jones, 2013):
- A patterned system of tradition-derived norms influencing behaviour.
- Cultural norms are processes in a constant state of flux.
- They encompass thoughts, communications, actions, customs, beliefs, values an
institutions.
- "The way we do things here".
What is cultural identity? (Capuzzi & Gross, 2017):
- Identity or feeling of belonging to a social group (society, nation, department wi
university etc.).
- Part of a person's self conception and self perception which is related to national
ethnicity religion, social class, generation, locality or any kind of social group th

- It's got to be crucial to the way you see yourself.
Cultural diversity
Everyone to a certain degree is:

Challenges in therapy
Issues of diversity for the practitioner:
- Working with clients who possess worldviews that differ substantially from ours
