sovereignty the authority of a state to govern itself or another state.

anarchy a state of disorder due to absence or non-recognition of authority or other
controlling systems.

transnational are incorporated or unincorporated enterprises comprising parent enterprises and
corporation their foreign affiliates

state centrism a political theory which stresses the role of the government on civil society.

supranational having power or influence that transcends national boundaries or governments.

IGO organization composed primarily of sovereign states, or of other intergovernmental
organizations. IGOs are established by treaty or other agreement that acts as a
charter creating the group

pooled sovereignty the strengthening of a country's resources by combining them with those of partner
countries

hyperglobalist an approach which sees globalization as a new epoch in human history. This new
epoch is characterized by the declining relevance and authority of nation-states

state agree that the impact of globalization has been exaggerated by globalists but
transformationalism argue that it is foolish to reject the concept out of hand

globalisation sceptics Pierre Bourdieu writes that the globalization is “a myth in a full meaning of the

security dilemma a situation in which, under anarchy, actions by a state intended to heighten its
security, such as increasing its military strength, committing to use weapons or
making alliances

liberalism political doctrine that takes protecting and enhancing the freedom of the individual
to be the central problem of politics

interdependence the mutual reliance between two or more groups. This concept differs from the
reliance in a dependent relationship, where some members are dependent and
some are not.

republican liberalism claims that liberal democracies (almost) never fight each other, and in that sense
are more peaceful

liberal institutionalism claims that international institutions and organizations such as the United Nations,
NATO and the European Union can increase and aid cooperation between states.

democratic peace posits that democracies are hesitant to engage in armed conflict with other
thesis identified democracies

marxism political, economic, and social principles and policies advocated by Marx;
especially : a theory and practice of socialism (see socialism 3) including the labor
theory of value, dialectical materialism, the class struggle, and dictatorship of the
proletariat until the establishment of a classless society
