Run and Find Game. Creating and Finding.
Create a house for a fictional character. Observing specific characteristics of things,
Create a den we may find.
Differentiated by level of challenge in “Run-
and-Find” (named objects such as pinecones,
colours, sizes, textures…etc)
The Flexible Plan Energy Flow
Experience 1: High energy
Play “Run and Find”- items to find may include, colours, sizes, textures,
shapes.
Children are encouraged to develop their own” run-and-find” games.

Experience 2: High energy
Can you build a house for Supertato? (FS Leader to model by using the during
different materials the children may have collected) material
collection.
Calm during
demonstration.
Experience 3 (Reflection): High energy.
Children are asked if they can build a bigger house for themselves by
looking for larger materials.
Children asked to consider which items and materials made the best
houses.
(Compassion, community and companionship)
Learning Theories/ Strategies Employed
Learning styles – mixture of directed exploration and free choice / free play on activities
and how to communicate and cooperate ideas through teamwork.
Schemas – Observing how the children are learning to inform next lesson plan.
Health and Safety Considerations
Need to be aware of possibility of nettle stings due to children locating and moving
relevant materials and resources.
