Key Objectives: Theme Development:
Run and Find Game Extension Colours
Participate in a Colour Scavenger hunt. Differentiated by the use of colour hunt
Complete a twig hunt sheets to aid the children in identifying the
items that they need to collect.
The Flexible Plan Energy Flow
Experience 1: High energy
Provide children with colour hunt sheets. Staff to provide guidance when
trying to locate more difficult colours (The season will affect the variety of
colours available) Are children able to collect items with different colours,
how many do they have, do they need to share their collected resources?
(Communication and Teamwork) (conscience, control catalyst)
Experience 2: High energy
Twig hunt sheets provided, and the children need to work together in order during
to locate the sticks/ twigs. material

Experience 3 (Reflection): low energy.
Children are asked if they can make pictures on the ground using their
found materials and then they are asked to draw what they found (time
permitting)
Learning Theories/ Strategies Employed
Learning styles – creativity and mixture of directed exploration and free choice / free play
on activities and how to communicate and cooperate ideas through teamwork.
Schemas – Observing how the children are learning to inform next lesson plan.
Health and Safety Considerations
Need to be aware of possibility of nettle stings due to children locating and moving
relevant materials and resources. Pay caution and heed to anything spiky that the children
may collect
