Explain the similarities and differences between broadleaf and coniferous woodlands.
A broadleaf woodland is exactly as its sounds, the leaves on the trees are wide or broad and
vary in shape and size. The tree are normally 5 metres high and their types are mostly
deciduous, however, Holly is an evergreen and the rest shed their leaves every autumn. Trees
found in British woodlands are generally Ash, Beech, Birch, Oak and Sycamore. (Please see
