For P6, learners should develop a coherent marketing mix for a new product or
service. The product or service does not have to be entirely new; it could be an
established product or service introduced to a new market. The marketing mix
should include at least the 4 Ps.
The new product I am going to develop a marketing mix for is iPhone 6 which is
produced by Apple. Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology
company that designs, develops and sells consumer electronics, software to
consumers. It was founded by Steve Jobs on the 1st of April 1976. The iPhone 6
is one of Apple’s latest releases, it is available in 6 different colours and is
priced at £500.
The marketing mix is associated with the 4P’s of marketing which are; Price,
Place, Product and Promotion. The marketing mix is used by businesses to
promote its brand or products in the market in order to increase awareness at
its full potential. These four elements can be controlled by the business in
order to create the perfect combination in order to meet needs and wants of
the consumer.
The iPhone 6s is aimed at a wide range of people including, teenagers,
university students, businessmen (and women) and also adults. This product
can cater needs and for wants for a variety of people and therefore it is a
successful product.
IPhones Marketing Mix
Product
Product Range is a set of related products that can be marketed together to
similar market segments. When a company develops a good product with lots
of potential, the product range allows the company to alter the original
product in order to appeal to a wide range of potential customers, for e.g.
different colours or sizes.
Apple have increased their product range by providing the iPhone in a variety
of colours and sizes. The iPhone 6s is available in three different colours to
appeal different consumers, it is also available in a larger size, also known as
the iPhone 6s Plus. As Apple has an extremely large target audience for the
iPhone 6s, if computer scientists and other phone users need a faster phone
with more RAM, or need a better camera, apple have provided the iPhone 6s
