current and future needs of a business to achieve its goals. It
needs to be flexible for short term and long term challenges
while adapting to business changing condition.

• The business that I am going to discuss is Tesco and how they

internal and external factors when planning human resources

, Internal planning factors
• Internal planning factors are factors that are happening within a business.
• This includes how Tesco is changing to cope with new demands and the ever
changing market. Such as the introduction of technology, products or service.
• It is also a way of considering the new skills that will be needed in the future and

• Internal planning factors are factors that affect the business’s performance either
positively or negatively from within the business. Planning can be seen as strength
if they have a favourable effect on the business but as weakness in
damaging effect on the business.
• Some of the internal planning factors that ill discuss are organisation needs, Skills
required and workforce profiles.
• Internal planning factors usually follow a cycle in order to be successful. This cycle
is planning, design, implementation and evaluation. For something to be successful
it requires serious thought and work put in place
