,Probability Basics
• Probabilities are always between 0 and 1
• A probability of 0 means that it will NEVER happen
• A probability of 1 means it will DEFINITELY happen
• You can show probability with fractions, decimals, or percentages.
,Probability Basics
• When all outcomes are equally likely we can use the following formula to
work out the probability
• This will only apply to questions that use examples like a fair spinner,
dice, or coin.
, Example Question
1. Work out the probability of the spinner landing on green
2. Which of the colours is least likely to be landed on.
