– They are rules & instructions to make the game fun.
– They have:

– Level specific mechanics
– Coded doors, teleportation platform, etc.

– Scores, rewards, health, etc.
– Types of feedbacks
– Ranking
– Time elapsed/left
– Items collected
– Fragg count
– Energy and power bars
– Score
– Story progression
– Achievement
– Percentage of completion
– Audios - Cheers/boos
– Interactive objects
– Movable, explodable, climbable, etc.
– Rules are important.
– Designer makes rules.
– They must know the limits of what rules they want to add.
– Think about which mechanics ( rules ) are fun and add to your
game.
– Wrong mechanics can easily ruin the game.
– They might take the fun away.
