Developments and changes in the Dutch economy

The Netherlands has relatively few natural resources of its own, whereas the economy relies greatly
on exports and sectors using a great deal of energy and materials. All metal used is imported. And
despite the natural gas reserves, most of the fossil fuels consumed in the Netherlands are also
imported. Dutch per capita material consumption is relatively low compared to other European
countries though. This is mainly related to the great population density.

IKEA

In the IKEA Group are many changes, they buy new machines so they can produce faster than people
who do it all by hand. They also have to change some products. For example, in the spring they sell
flowers and thing you use in the spring and summer and in the autumn they sell things for the
autumn and winter. Also in the supply changes some things. Everything has to be as cheap as
possible. Also in their stores there are many changes, sometimes other companies try to get a
contract to sell their products at IKEA.

The Royal Netherlands Army

In the army changes some things to. They have to fire people because much things are going by
computer or robots. The supply of the weapons are going to change to, now they has to buy the
weapons by a factory, in the future they have a 3d printer. Than they only have to click on a button
and the weapons rolls out on the battle field. Also their vehicles are changing, first we had a few
tanks now they are all sold and now we bought the Joint strike fighter, that is an fighter jet who can
land vertical. These things are the biggest changes by The Royal Dutch Army. And this kind of changes
will happen at any time

Conclusion

There are always economic changes all of this changes have influence on both companies. This
changes are very important for companies to keep up with the rest of the industry. When the
companies don’t make changes other companies will take over their customers. And often these
changes are important for the environment because old products are bad for the environment.
