There are several things covered in these notes including: - the 3 stages of labour - the stages of the passage of the head through the pelvis - premature labour including definition, causes, consequences, drugs used and mortality rate - induction of labour including indications and the bishop score - 3 mechanical factors that determine progress during labour including the degree of the force of expelling the foetus, the dimensions of the pelvis and the resistance of the soft tissue as the diameters of the foetal head I have used the following myself for revision for examinations and for consolidating knowledge on my clinical rotations. These have been made from a combination of reading and lecture notes from 4th year medical school lectures for MBBS.
