Part 1 Literature Review – 60%
Critically evaluate the changing nature of the global landscape in 2023 for international business
and discuss how this presents challenges and opportunities for an industry or sector of your
choice. Use examples to support your answer (choose any UK based company)
This coursework will develop critical thinking as well as providing students with the opportunity to
demonstrate an understanding of the research, both seminal and emerging, in the area of
international business, thereby developing scholarly understanding of the subject area. The review
should be no more than 2,000 words (+/- 10%) and will be completed on an individual basis.
If you do basic PESTLE you will fail the module.

In addition, to assessing subject knowledge and understanding, this coursework will enable
students to develop and reflect on the following employability skills which will be outlined more
fully in class:
Notes for Students:
Students must use minimum 10 references from the reading list provided to pass the
module.
Part 2 Group Presentation – 25%
This will comprise of a ten-minute group presentation (groups will be finalized by the end of week
2) to take place in week 8.
Task: Assume the role of an international consulting team working for government agency
that is seeking to develop new international market opportunities for an industry/sector of
your choice between UK and another country. Students are encouraged to select a UK
based company/Industry/Sector and compare to another country (home country).
Using the Cage Model (presented in week 1), your presentation will focus on:
The distance (actual/perceived) between your selected country with UK highlighting the
opportunities and challenges for your chosen industry/sector.
Each member of the group is expected to contribute fully to the development of the group
presentation and perform an element of the presentation.
Note: 25% of each student’s cumulative assessment in the group work shall be based on his or
her individual contribution. A peer review system will be used, with peer assessments of
student contributions to the group assignment used to modify individual marks. Students

, will be issued with a detailed rating sheet relating to the assignment, which each student
completes for each member of the group.
Presentation date: Week 8 during seminar
Submission Location: Online Slide Deck Submission through Blackboard Learn Turnitin
Length: No more than 10 minutes for each group – 10 Slides
Feedback: 4 (working) weeks of the submission dates
Notes for Students:
Each group MUST bring 2 printed copies of the presentation slides.
Not more than 4 people in each group.
1 group member must submit all the slides, while other group members will ONLY submit
1st slides with all student names and topic
Part 3 Reflection – 15%
Reflection of Learning
Students will be required to complete an individual reflection of their learning approach on this
task. The purpose of this reflection is to make regular notes about your engagement and
contribution to both individual and group tasks and to reflect on how you participated as a learner
through the module. In particular it is important to reflect on what you would do differently if
approaching the task again.
Points to Note: For the purpose of this task you will be expected to document weekly activities.
Structure it in a way that is easily read.
Consider the following when writing your journal:
o What is my role as a level 7 learner?
o What are my responsibilities and feelings towards completing this assessment?
o Did I attend additional support classes – e.g. library and CELT (if applicable).
o How did these help with my learning?
o What did I do to develop my research? - interpret & evaluate from your perspective.
o How have I managed my workload?
o How have I managed my time?
o Explain your experience to reveal new insights and learning.
o What would I do differently? Why?
o What changes in my learning approach (if any) should I make for my next
assessment?
Your reflection should be submitted to support with a 500 word essay focusing on:
“My Key Learning Insights Derived From Global Business in Context.”
