Drills to help improve the fluidity of combining punches and kicks in combinations that
can be used in for and effective in sparring.

1). Be able to swiftly transition from kick to a punch and vice versa (Least Difficult)
2). Be able to use front leg kicking techniques to create distance for punching combinations (Moderate Difficulty)
3). Be able to start and finish a combination with a kick, including swift transitions to punches in between the kicks (Most
Difficult)

Equipment Needed:
(List all equipment needed of session, including any personal equipment such as whistles)
 Boxing Gloves
 Focus Pads
 Timer (Tabata Pro Timer App)
 2 Penalty Boxes
Health & Safety: (how will you ensure that the participants train in a safe environment?)
 Ensure that the participant is wearing appropriate training clothing and footwear
 Make sure that there are no wet surfaces
 Make sure that equipment is out of the way of both the coach and participant
 Ensure that the participant has completed appropriate health questionnaires
prior to starting the session
 Right before the session, give the participant a verbal PAR-Q (Physical Activity
Readiness Questionnaire) to highlight if the session needs to be adapted to the
participants needs
Contingency Plans: (what measure do you have in place in case of small numbers, no sports hall, insufficient

 If there are no boxing gloves, the session can focus on kicks
 If there are no focus pads, a bag, kick paddles, boxing paddles or a kick shield
could be used for a target

space whilst making the drills creative or a focus on fine tuning basic
techniques could be implemented as they do not require as much space to
execute.
