Health inequalities are unjust disparities in health outcomes bet
individuals or groups. They arise from differences in social and
economic conditions that influence people’s behaviours and life
choices, their risk of illness and actions taken to deal with illnes
when it occurs (WHO)
Inequalities in these social determinants of health are not inevita
and are therefore considered avoidable and unfair.
