Promotional Mix for Asda and Victus Bistro



Introduction

Asda is a national supermarket which was first established in 1949. They employ over
180,000 staff and have 621 stores in a range of locations. They sell a range of products
from food to alcohol, homecare products, electrical and they also have their own clothing
range called George which caters to a large audience including children. Asda’s
headquarters is in Leeds. The product that I am going to be focusing on throughout this
report is their clothing line George.

Victus Bistro is a restaurant situated in Colchester and Brightlingsea. They offer a lunch
time, dinner time and cocktail menu. They sell a range of foods from sandwiches to
steak. They were previously known as The Lemon Tree. The product that I am going to be
focusing on throughout this report is their cocktail menu.



Advertising

Three methods of advertising that Asda uses to promote their clothing range is social
media (online), newspaper (print), and in store advertising (outdoor).



Social Media

A way that Asda advertise their clothing range
is by social media which includes Facebook.
This method is persuasive as they post pictures
and videos which shows off their range of
clothes. They also post links which direct
customers to the actual website where they can
purchase the products on show.

This is an effective way of advertising as it can
get to a large audience quickly and it is
becoming popular with young adults as
technology is on the rise. Another reason why
this method is effective at advertising is
because the post can be shared.
