Ligaments of the Vertebral Column
• Anterior Longitudinal Ligament: Anterior Longitudinal
ligament (ALL) is one inch wide, runs entire length of spine from
base of the skull to the sacrum. It connects the anterior front of the
vertebral body to the front of the annulus fibrosis. (Axis C2 to
sacrum)
• Posterior Longitudinal Ligament: Posterior Longitudinal
ligament (PLL) is one inch wide, runs entire length of spine from
base of the skull to the sacrum. It connects the posterior front of the
vertebral body to the back of the annulus fibrosis. (Axis C2 to
sacrum)
Ligaments of vertebral column
• Supraspinous Ligament: Ligament connects one spinous
process to another spinous process. (C7 to L4).
