This will form part of your research for Aim B1
To achieve the PASS you will need to
❏ state the types of direct and indirect methods of transmission
❏ give an example of an infectious disease that is transmitted by each of the methods stated above
❏ describe how each of the diseases you have chosen are spread
This is an example of how to describe how a disease is spread by either a direct or indirect
method of transmission. – Athletes Foot
Athletes foot is a fungal infection.
Athlete's foot is contagious and can be spread by contact with an infected person
or from contact with contaminated surfaces, such as towels, floors and shoes
It affects the soles of the feet and the areas between toes, it can also spread to
toenails, hands and underarms also.
The fungi thrive in closed, warm, moist environments which is why damp socks and
damp/warm shoes and socks can also help the spread.
