Impact of VLE on the students learning
experience
Introduction:
Virtual learning is a form of education that revolutionizes today's manner of learning.
The teacher uses online resources in a virtual learning environment to teach
students classes rather than teaching in an individual classroom setting. Thanks to
current technology, kids may learn from home in a regular classroom in the same
manner. In educational institutions, virtual learning environments (VLE) are
consolidated.
Consequently, questioning their acceptability does not appear important. It is a
problem, however, to make them a major contribution to the performance of pupils.
Many variables affect the performance of students, which makes it nearly impossible
for all pupils to be identified and even more difficult to analysed their effect on the
possibility of learning. At the University of Wales Trinity Saint David London Campus,
students use an online platform called Moodle to learn online due to the COVID-19
restrictions that do not allow physical learning. This research report will look at the
effects of Moodle on the student’s learning experience. This study provides a
snapshot of students’ views about the use of the VLE and its impact on their
learning, from which there are recommendations for teachers and teacher educators.
Background
Literature review:
This literature review outlines the background and development of VLEs to support
teaching and learning. It starts with a brief historical background followed by general
positive and then negative impacts of VLE use. The last section examines the
specific impacts of VLE on independent learning and motivation.
Each section, after the background, relates to the research questions and provides
context for this work. The formal teaching and interactions between instructors,
students, and schools have involved virtual learning environments. There is growing
interest in Internet-supported virtual learning environments, particularly between
educators, students, and teachers.
