Introduction

I. Attention Getter: Alyssa was a normal sixteen-year-old teenager until her own mother
sold her into sex trafficking. Eight “pimps” controlled her. While she would “work the streets”,
the pimps would sit at a McDonalds by the corner she worked at and watched her to make sure
she wouldn’t escape. Alyssa has a scar on her right cheek from when one of the eight pimps cut
her with a potato peeler as a warning that it would be worse if she ever tried to escape.

II. Significance Step: Acording to CNN March 9, 2015 All across the country, from Texas to
Minnesota, young people are being robbed of their innocence and subjected to unthinkable
horrors and abuse There are an estimated 27 million sex slaves in the world today. That’s
the highest recorded number of slaves in history!

III. Connection with the Audience: Sex trafficking is happening to people like you. It
doesn’t discriminate on age, race, gender, or religion. Anyone can be a victim. Human
trafficking has many different forms such as forced labor, bonded labor, involuntary domestic
servitude, forced child labor, child soldiers and sex trafficking.

trafficking.
